Master theses

Topics

I supervise MA theses in the broadly defined fields of Finance, Macroeconomics, Statistical Methods (including Machine Learning or Artificial Intelligence) and Health Economics.

Methods

Master theses typically involve empirical work employing methods of causal inference or machine learning, applied to a real-world dataset or used in the context of a simulation study.

Start date

Your thesis can officially start at one of two times during the year:

1.       In the beginning of April

2.       In the beginning of October

Requirements

Supervision capacity is unfortunately limited and I am often unable to meet the high demand for supervision. I expect you to have successfully finished at least one of my courses below if you consider writing your thesis with me:

-          Advanced Statistics for Data Analytics (Causal Inference)

-          Machine Learning for Economists

In any case, please talk to me early (i.e. 1-2 months before the start date) about capacity and potential topics.
